Discussion

This spit was excavated to define the features to the west of Grubenhaus 012AD08045. The material removed was a sandy loam (Munsell 10YR 4/3), with between 5 and 10% chalk inclusions. Further definition was needed in a number of places, and spits 012AD08076, 012AD08129, 012AD08037 and 012AD08514 were subsequently excavated.
